Ok, I’ve been an iPod guy forever and decided to try out the zune.

I wouldn’t try those media converters if I were you. They tend to be loaded with adware.
Try downloading RealPlayer SP.

Hi, my computer has some kind of problem and I need to reformat it, I was wondering since I have my music saved nowhere else but my zune, is there anyway after my computer is wiped out for me to transfer all my music from my zune back into my computer once again?
Open your Zune program and connect your Zune. Click on device>music.
Then highlight all of your music files. Right click on one of them and select copy to collection. It should copy all of them.
Do the same thing with pictures, videos, and podcasts.

You won’t be able to get them directly from your device to iTunes.

I deleted a lot of music on my zune, then added artists that I want.
Now, instead of deleting the artists names that I un-synced, the zune keeps the artists names, even though the music isn’t there.
When you select the artist, it says “no items”, which makes sense, but I want a nice clean and organized menu instead of music data that doesn’t even exist.

my 30 gig zunes buttons have completely stopped responding. i know it still works because it turns on when i plug it in & when it goes into sleep mode when its unplugged it can toggle the lock key and it will wake back up. i heard this might be solved by formatting, but the only way of formatting ive heard of is using the button combination.
Yes you need buttons for that. But maybe you can get your Zune’s buttons to respond though. Have you tried holding the play/pause button for a few seconds and rebooting if it will allow? How about holding the Back button and Up button? Or letting the battery run out so it has to reboot? Because my 30 gb’s buttons have stopped responding but I rebooted it and it allowed me to use them again.

but my auxiliary input on my stereo is broken and I’ve tried using fm transmitters, but they all give me static sound.

The only one I know of that is free and will work for Zune is Super. Otherwise just do a search for free DVD to Zune converters. I doubt you will find very many though.

I have no problem syncing my Zune with pictures and videos, however I noticed peoples profiles sometimes have pictures and sometimes have that little orange and pink square so it must be possible to upload a pic to your profile. Also if anyone knows how to upload a photo for an unknown album I would be very grateful
To upload a picture for your profile, go to social > me in the software and sign in if you haven’t. Click ‘Zune.net profile’ and then choose ‘change picture’.
For an unknown album, right-click on it and choose ‘find album info’. You can search for the album from there, just put in some information like the band and name of the album. Choose the right album from the list and hit next.

It should boot to the home screen when you charge it so there’s likely a problem. If nothing changes after 2-3 hours of charging, return it for a new one. You probably just got one with a bad battery.
when that battery is completely dead on the zune it will take a couple minutes after you start to charge it for it to actually start to be able to be used. give it a couple minutes. most of these players have been sitting for a while so the charge slowly leaks out of the battery. a couple hours on the charger and all should be good.

You will have to strip the DRM and convert them to wmv to put them on a Zune.
iTunes music and video have DRM copyright protection, you can only play it on your computer or your iPod player. If you want to put them on other portable player such as PSP, Zen, Zune, MP3/MP4 player, etc.

I just bought a song on amazon, but I am clueless as to how to get it on my Zune music library so I can put it on my zune.
That can only be done in the Zune program. To do that, open your Zune program and an Internet browser. Find the picture you want to use as an album cover and copy it. In the Zune program, find the album you want to use it with and right click and paste. You can also use a picture you have that is on your computer already. Just right click on the album and select update album art. Once you do that the rest is easy to figure out.
You can’t do this for podcasts at this time.
For your question, I have this answer in options:
1.) Right click on the grey album picture, then click on Update Album Art. It should open up your local Pictures folder. If you have album cover art anywhere in your pictures folder (or your computer), you should be able to locate it and select it as the album art that you want to display.

I have a Zune 30 gb using 3.1 updated zune software and everything works wonderfully with loading pictures and video etc. However there are people in social with their own photos loaded replacing the generic pink square. I also would like to know how to upload album art and pictures to replace the gray Unknown Album box. I have tried to drag and drop to no avail! Thank you all in advance!!

I’m not so sure, but I think Zune might be cheaper. I’d stay with iPods, there way better.
With a zune you can share songs, you should be able to add your songs from your itunes, and you charge your zune with a computer the same way as with and ipod
there are a lot of advantages to a zune over an ipod…FM radio tuner with buy from FM feature, wireless sync, wirelss sharing from Zune to Zune, and wirless marketplace. Zune pass is $15/month for unlimited downloads (do some research on the zune pass if it interests you.)
the only bad thing about it is that the files you bought off itunes probably will not work on the zune since they are in the apple specific acc format. but witht he zune pass it will only cost you $15 to replace all those songs so that is a plus.

well i personnally prefer apple but my brother has a zune. with zune you can share music and photos and listen to the radio. But id say apple customer care and products and itunes is better. Also with the zune you can purchase songs without plugging it in to your computer using the usb cable. you just use wifi to purchase if you want to
