How does the AI to PNG conversion work in the browser?
Adobe Illustrator files saved with the "PDF Compatible" option (which is enabled by default) contain an embedded PDF representation. Our tool utilises PDF.js to render this PDF content and exports it as a PNG image directly on your device.
Why is my AI file failing to convert?
If the conversion fails, the AI file was likely saved without PDF compatibility. In Adobe Illustrator, go to File > Save As and ensure "Create PDF Compatible File" is checked. Files from very old versions of Illustrator may also not be compatible.
What is the resolution of the PNG output?
The tool renders at 2x the document size for high-quality output. A standard A4 size design will produce a high-resolution PNG suitable for professional use.
Are complex vector effects supported?
Basic vector shapes, text, and images render well. However, complex effects like 3D, mesh gradients, or specific blend modes may not render perfectly since PDF.js handles the PDF representation rather than the native AI format.
