Common Questions

Does this tool actually work without Illustrator?
Yes. It works with any AI file saved with the 'Create PDF Compatible File' option (which is checked by default in Illustrator). It reads the embedded PDF data to generate the PNG.
Why is my file showing as blank?
This usually happens if the file was saved with PDF compatibility turned off. In Illustrator, check 'Create PDF Compatible File' in the Save As dialog. Files from legacy versions (pre-CS6) might also have issues.
What size will the PNG image be?
The output is 2x the source size. For a standard US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) artboard, expect an image around 1650 x 2200 pixels, perfect for high-res use.
Can it handle complex effects and transparency?
It handles vectors and text perfectly. However, highly complex effects like specific mesh gradients, raster-based effects, or complex transparency stacks may simplify during render.
Is my data safe when uploading?
